Selling on Amazon.com
When you sell in the Amazon Marketplace you place your items in front of millions of customers-- your items are displayed right alongside those carried by Amazon.com! There are no fees unless you sell.

Start selling now:
  • List your items

  • Get orders

  • Ship

  • Get paid

  • Fees and Pricing
Amazon collects fees only when your item sells. At that time, Amazon collects your sales price and shipping costs from the buyer, deducts a commission of 6 to 15 percent of the sales price, a per-transaction fee of $0.99, and a variable closing fee. The $0.99 per-transaction fee is waived for Pro Merchant Subscribers.

    Commission rates are as follows:
  • Amazon Kindle = 15 percent

  • Automotive parts and accessories = 12 percent

  • Camera and photo = 8 percent

  • Cell phones and accessories = 15 percent

  • Computers = 6 percent

  • Electronic items = 8 percent

  • Items in the Everything Else store = 15 percent

  • Musical instruments = 12 percent

  • Watches = 13 percent

  • All other product lines = 15 percent

  • Full Disclosure: To date I've not sold anything on either Ebay nor Amazon.com
But to tell you the honest to God truth... it's because it takes money to sell on Ebay and from what I've seen it doesn't take money to sell on Amazon.com!

I can't GET PAID from Amazon.com without paying a fee of some kind, but with Ebay if you don't have the fee...you're just S.O.L.

I was just about to throw this blog away when I read an article on Digg.com saying that Ebay's traffic is down (I do search engine optimization so website traffic is how I make my living) and Amazon.com is taking over the Online Auction spotlight.

Will keep you posted as to how all this turns out.

If it makes me money, it'll make you money (and if set it up for you and charge a small fee it'll make both of us money!!)
